Pakistan Resolution Day, also known as 23 March, marks a historic milestone in the struggle for a separate homeland for Muslims in the Indian subcontinent. On this day in 1940, the All-India Muslim League passed a resolution in Lahore that called for the creation of an independent Muslim state in the northwestern and northeastern regions of British India.

As we celebrate 23 March, the day when the historic Pakistan Resolution was passed in 1940, we also celebrate the release of a new political map of Pakistan. This map, which was unveiled in August 2020 by Prime Minister Imran Khan, shows the country’s territorial boundaries and reaffirms our commitment to the Kashmir cause.

The new political map of Pakistan includes the disputed region of Jammu and Kashmir as a part of Pakistan, and shows the Siachen Glacier as a part of Pakistan as well. This map represents the aspirations of the people of Pakistan and is aimed at resolving the long-standing Kashmir dispute.

Pakistan is the world’s 33rd largest country by area, with a land area of approximately 991,394 square kilometers (or 382,690 square miles). This land is home to a rich and diverse culture, and the people of Pakistan are united in their commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous country.

As we celebrate the creation of Pakistan, we also stand in solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters who continue to face oppression and persecution under Indian occupation. On this Pakistan Resolution Day, let us reiterate our commitment to upholding the principles of democracy, human rights, and social justice that are enshrined in our Constitution.
